The History of our Cafe

We gave up milking cows in 2000, and now the area where we once milked our herd of 70 cows is smartly transformed into a beautiful space for our cafe.

The cafe incorporates all the original features of the 18th Century stone barn, with original beams, woodwork and stone.  The views from the cafe look across the fields of Newton Park towards Bath Spa University. This area was once part of the original parkland design laid out by Capability Brown. It is said that the original Oak Trees were in positions to mark the stages of the Battle of Waterloo.

Our outdoor seating area is in the courtyard immediately outside the cafe, again with magnificent views across the Newton Park Estate, and is sheltered by our large raised planters - alfresco dining at its best some say!
